The cima del Redentore (1252 m), in the Aurunci mountains is not a mountain in its own right, as it is sometimes considered, but is simply the South shoulder of Mount Altino. However, from the top you can see spectacular views on coast of Formia and Gaeta on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea-Scauri, the mouth of the Garigliano, the monte Massico, Vesuvius , mount Faito, Ischia and Capri-considered by some to be one of the best views of the entire Apennine popularizers.

From the top of Mount Altino (1367 m) towards the Sea (South) lies the south wall which has its lowest point in the saddle Sola (1226 m); from here the Ridge climbs briefly up to a characteristic Rocky Dome, where is a little chapel on whose roof is placed the bronze statue of the Redeemer.

Starting from the village of Maranola (268 m), you can get to the statue of the Redeemer following a beautiful beaten path that passes under the wonderful Rock Laolatra, next to the Hermitage of San Michele Arcangelo and finally on the saddle Sola (1,226 m). The starting point of the route is the Refuge Pornito, reachable by car from Maranola following the signs for "statue of Christ the Redeemer". Once you get near the hideaway you can walk on the path of the pilgrims "until you get to the top. Copious snowfall can occur in winter (even 3 metres per year) which give the landscape a connotation from the crib.

Alternatively you can take the road (dirt road) to the fork of Fraile (at the base of m. Continuously), continue until reaching the northern slope of m. Altino; then you climb to the top and then down the other side, to the Redeemer.
Along the path leading from the hut to the saddle Alone lies (1158 m) the Church of St Michael the Archangel, embedded in the wall. The shrine dates back to the 9th century but was rebuilt in the 19th century.
